Discuss Amongst Yourselves

Christmas Project Update:
My mad-mad-mad knitting continues… By the time I went to bed last night my hands were aching, but otherwise it’s really going pretty well. Only one thing has turned out not-quite-good-enough. But, that leaves 4 hats, 2 scarves and 1½ pairs of mittens for gifts. By Friday, I hope to have a lot more. Keep the coffee coming!!!

I love reading comments left for me here, but I miss reading my favorite blogs regularly. I’m going to post a few random things here this week just to keep in touch with folks. Next week I’ll try to catch up with everything I’ve missed during the past 3 weeks.

For today, I present to you a question from the archives. Mull it over and share your answer if you wish.

Your Fairy Love Goddess graces you with a magical swat on the rump with the Little Red Riding Crop. Once the euphoria subsides, you see before you three unusual cocktails.
~ The first is a Potion of Love. If you drink it, you will meet your perfect match, fall blissfully in love, and live happily ever after.
~ The second is a Potion of Success. If you drink it, you will be extremely successful in your chosen vocation and earn the admiration, respect, and envy of your colleagues.
~ The third is a Potion of Wisdom. If you drink it, you will feel at peace throughout your life, regardless of the difficulties you face. Irrational feelings of doubt and fear will be a thing of the past.

Which potion do you drink? Why?

You are totally hurting my little pea brain on a Sunday with the logical fun question! But I'll play anyway, because you rule and I love you.

I drink potionof love, because with my perfect match I can obtain much success and wisdom. Even if it weren't the amount I would have gotten with the potions, at least I've got someone to support me and share it with, which makes it worth more, even if it is on a level less than what I would have had the other way.

Is there one that makes me stop writing ramble sentences?

The potion of love. I feel I should earn success and wisdom on my own, without any magical potions. But finding love seems to be the most elusive and the most luck-based.

hmmmmm tough question - first off - if you hit me with the riding crop, do I have to give you my credit card number, well actually how much is it for two swats.

I guess I'm going to go with number one - actually think I've already tasted it. It's amazing that Love Potion Number Nine (Cue Question Mark and the Mysterians)tastes alot like Jose Quervo. I had a big plan to ask my wife to marry me just after the holidays - For Christmas that year she put 12 airplane bottles of Cuervo in my stocking. On New Years Eve, we went to a party and I brought my airplane bottles - I saw a friend, his wife (my soon to be fiance was a good friend of his wifes) he had airplane bottles of Stoli. He took off the top of one of the stoli bottles- grabbed with his teeth and threw his head back and finished it. I did the same - to 9 of the bottles. After the party, as my soon to be fiance was pouring my into the passenger seat - I told her that I was going to marry her one day. She laughed it off. A couple of weeks later, after asking her Dad if it was OK, I did it right. One knee and all. She still thinks it was funnier when I was sloshed beyond belief.
As for Success - I measure success be the happiness of my family not by the envy of my co-workers
And Wisdom - Nope not me - learned more by actually going through things - besdies wasn't the world much better when we all believed in Santa, The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy and The Great Pumpkin

Hit me with a shot of the Potion of Wisdom, and here's why:

If irrational feelings of doubt and fear disappear, then I'm going to go ahead and pursue those things that interest me most, in a confident, and—because of the potion—very wise manner, and I'll succeed in my chosen endeavors anyway.

Will wisdom ensure me love also?

Probably not, but it might increase the odds. I will be wise enough to weed out all of the nonconstructive relationships that I'm bound to encounter, and I won't be sucking the soul out of anyone with my own irrational doubts and fears!

If nothing else, I'll be at peace while I'm trying to figure out my loooooooooove issues.

I'm going to have to end up being a miserable unsuccessful hag and go with wisdom. Maybe I'll be wise enough to fall in love with the right person or maybe *gleeful grin* I can be like the wise King Solomon and end up with about a thousand husbands and concubines. Just a stable of men for aisha. Wait, I can't even handle one, what the heck am I talking about?
With wisdom, I'd have the wiseness for making the wisest of decisions leading to amazing success. Yes, it's wisdom for me.

Zoomie-zoom - I think you already drank the potion of love, My Dear. Sounds like you know what your priorities are.

Kayten - Sometimes it seems like a torturous waiting game. In the mentime, pamper yourself a lot!

Dick - Ha! Excellent reasoning!
Thanks for the Christmas wish. My hope is to walk downtown after Christmas and spot one of my creations on someone who wanders there. It will make me happy to know they are keeping someone warm.
What euphoria?

Al - You are getting a for real spanking for suggesting such a thing.
Thanks for sharing your Love Story. That's funny and sweet. Glad you did it right.

GNGirl - A sensible Woman! Confidence is sexy, Baby!!! You'd be beating 'em off with a stick!.

Aisha - Another sensible Woman ... with an entourage of gorgeous men. Sounds like you've already taken your dose of wisdom.

None. You're offering a destination without the journey. What fun is that? What is love/success/wisdom that isn't earned? No thanks.
Sorry for peeing on your game.

AC - No need to apologize. Your answer is valid and relevant.

I'll take the wisdom potion, please! For the reasons better stated by other commenters. And I think I've earned it (wouldn't have been fair 15 years ago, but now I'm ready . . .)

Sorry - My sense of humor is a little on the twisted side. Guess I shouldn't ask Santa for a pair of knitted handcuffs. lol

Jane - If you get any smarter and wiser, the rest of us aren't going to understand a damn thing you say. You only get a 1/2 dose.

Dick - Feel free to change your answer every day. I bet you could make an argument for each one.

Al - Go for the hand-cuffs, Baby. WHile you're at it, I think you better ask for a knitted ass-cushion.

the potion of love...definitely.

success and wisdom are found at home...where you have love.

I would rather die remembering those eyes...

than thinking about anything I might have accomplished. xx

Well, I don't need the potion of love. I have meet the man of my dreams. Actually, I have meet the best man in the world. Sucks for everybody else, but hey I finally got lucky. Even though we may fight from time to time and we may make some not-so-good choices, I am blessed that our hearts are one.

I think that I would choose the potion of wisdom. If I had this potion, maybe I would not place my self in the "not-so-good" choice category. Additionally, maybe my temperment would level off and I could find the peace that my heart seeks.

Love,

Laurie - You are bound for success, my Dear.
I have lots of special little toys, including a cute little riding crop.

Steve - A true romantic!

NC - You are both gorgeous hot loveable men! Gaining wisdom the ordinary way is a painful process.

Ed - Wishing you a stocking full of cash!

I pick the potion of success. . . I think that this, in turn, (for me, at least) could cause all the other potion options fall into place sooner than later as well. . . besides when it comes to love, i'm a cyinic.

Interesting post.

Stephen - A love cynic? But you are so very loveable!

My first inclination is to snatch and down all three. Failing that I'd choose wisdom since it seems from the desciption that I'd be at peace and not care about the other two. Besides I'm already in love and fairly successful. :-) Merry/Happy!

In the past I would have chosen the Success Potion. Now, being so very much in love, I know that my life would be so very different without it. So, if I didn't have the love that I have now, I would absolutely choose the Love Potion.
