That's Just Super

Sometimes I have a childish longing to be a super-hero. Maybe it’s born from a deep seeded hope that somehow I can make a difference in the world. Maybe it’s because I feel powerless in the face of the chaos that surrounds me. Or perhaps it’s simply my shallow, vain desire to look fabulous in spandex.

Today is one of those days when I really wish I could walk out my door and take on the world. I want children to look up to me as a hero, my sisters to cheer me on, and men to fall at my feet. My foes will shake in their shoes and find their weak little cowardly bladders failing them upon the mention of my name.

Alas, instead I’ll be walking out the door in my office garb and a pair of ordinary taupe pumps.

… maybe tomorrow.

In the meantime, go
here and check this out. I love that Wonder Woman used to be a dominatrix dyke.

I wanted to BE Wonder Woman.
I used to dream of it as a matter of fact.

Hmmm .... what does that say about ME?

i'm getting a rush imagining you in a skin tight super hero leotard with a purple T emblazoned on the front.

You ARE a superhero. You're a superhero for writing this blog; you're a superhero for sharing yourself with others; you're a superhero for going on with life full of zest.

On the topic of Wonder Woman, I was just discussing with some cohorts the fact that many a man now in their thirties and forties claim Wonder Woman (or Linda Carter) as their first crush. Maybe this hints at men's true desire to be dominated by women?

Theresa, with the amount of high quality writing and insight that you put out, spandex is an insult.

I'd have guessed you were talking about recognition that superheros get. You already know you're writing in a league above almost anyone else, so I'll admit it. I'm hooked. And thank you for what you have done so far, I can't wait to see what's coming.

ok, so I have this vision you, dressed in office garb and taupe pumps with a sexy, barely-there Superhero outfit on underneath.

When trouble arises, you rip off your clothes (like Superman), and *POOF* you turn into:

SUPER SEX-T.

Helping people overcome their sexual inhibitions, hang-ups and general misconceptions.
Kama Sutra in one hand, and various "toys" in the other.

Or not ....

Theresa,
I already fall at your feet.
oh yeah, wait for it to come around

"I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero till the end of the night
She's gotta be strong and She's gotta be fast
and She's gotta be fresh from the fight
I need a hero
I'm holding out for a hero till the morning light
She's gotta be sure and she's gotta be soon
And She's gotta be larger than life"
Another Bonnie Tyler record to get stuck in your head - sorry
at least it wasn't the cheap scotch & unfiltered camel sound of "Heartache"
Love ya babe

I wonder if I could get this kind of response if I wore taupe pumps? Do you think panty hose would be essential? I guess so if you look at Batman and Robin or Superman. Oh well...

From the looks of it, we could have a whole gang of Wonder Women, with a Spidey side-kick, and plenty of supportive fans.

Thanks to those of you who are ever supportive and encouraging. I'm consistently pleased that this blog has been graced with the gentle, strong, intelligent and loving readers amidst the blogosphere.
