I'll be back

I’m leaving on a jet plane.
Don’t know when I’ll be back again …

I’m going to Southern California and it’s supposed to be in the 80’s this week. They’re predicting a snow storm here tomorrow.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Except, I have to come back. I’m sure it will be tempting to stay in the warm sunny climate. In fact, I’m probably tenacious enough and manipulative enough to convince someone in California to give me a job so I could stay. But, I really have to come back. My dog is here … and I don’t hate the snow as much as I love my dog. If you met him, you’d completely understand.

My first thought on reading that was, "Damn, I'd stay for the snow." I guess you can tell that we don't get snow that often over here. Not decent, thick on the ground snow anyway.

Have a good time in California.
And I understand about the dog.

This blogger grew up in Northeast Ohio and has learned the best way to handle inclement weather is proper dress.

I've never met your dog...

But I understand.

Have a great trip (& I'm not jealous at all...or am I?)

I don't know. I tend to think it's the changing of the seasons that make us appreciate the summertime so much.
Just think of what you'd miss - the week in September when the trees explode with color, waking up in the morning to see what was dark and dingy now covered in a blanket of pure white snow, the absolute manifestation of hope & renewal that comes with the first buds of Spring.
Nah, California's not for me.

Have a good time, Theresa! Soak up some sun for me (grrrr...overcast and chilly in New York City)

AC does have a huge point. I live here in the CA and once I was in Pennsylvania to see the trees change. I've never forgotten it, and am sad we don't get that here.

Stupid palm trees.

And yes, I think it was 84 yesterday, which I hate. I am ok with summertime temperatures in the summertime. But in November/December/Jan - I hate it more than anything.

Of course, I've never had to deal with snow day in and day out, year after year. So I probably don't know what I'm talking about so much.

But still. California will be better for having the amazing T in it, even if it is just a week. In fact, I'm ok with 80 degree weather, just as long as it makes her feel warm and happy.

And an animal can make me do things I'd never consider for any human being. So there's nothing but understanding of the love you have for your pooch.

ya know they say it never rains in Southern California..
Living in Florida - I miss the Winter & snow. I am originally from NE Ohio - my grandmother often said.. You can always but on enough clothes to stay warm, but can never take off enough to keep cool, in public.

To All: Thank you for your well-wishes.
We’re having a lovely time so far. The trip was long, but uneventful. I’ve mastered my co-pilot responsibilities by figuring out how to use one of those guidance system gadgets in our rental car … and what a car it is!!! My boss scored a white convertible Jag. Me thinks it’s a suitable ride for 2 hot chiks J.
In response to your comments about moving and climate, I’m fairly happy where I am. At the same time, I doubt I’ll be there forever. If/when I move, I’m likely to stay in or around the same longitude. I love the seasonal changes. The few days of bitter cold and squelching heat every year are worth it for the variety. Fall and Spring are my favorites, but my dog and I also love to bundle up and hit the snowy trails after a new snow.
I’ll be around a bit this week. The IT boys at my company set me up with a laptop. It’s still taking me ages to maneuver without a mouse, so please forgive me if I don’t get over to visit you.
